I grew up with it, I've known all there is to know about the back-end since I was 8, and I see no reason to change. There was a feeling of helplessness when I used Linux that I imagine a lot of end-users have with Windows. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, and when something went wrong, I couldn't fix it. Quite terrifying, really.
I guess that's why I like it so much more on the PDA. Sharp's Zaurus was designed with Linux in mind, and so it works very smoothly despite the limitations of such a small form factor. Its track record for driver support has been surprisingly good in my opinion. It accepted without incident a WiFi card straight out of the box, and wireless keyboard drivers were a cinch to download. I've routinely used it with memory cards of just about every make and size I've found. By simply looking over several other CF devices made by companies like Pretec and Socket and the support they have for the Zaurus, I see much potential in that handheld.

Of course, being a Linux box, the geek potential is in there too.

If your system's working okay and you're using older hardware, stick with Win 98 (9X/ME) or Win 2000 (NT).
