Yeah, there needs to be a "Consoles suck, <3 PC" option.
There is now.

I didn't pick any of the options. I'm not good at computer games, as they require skill. :P

well.. lets compare the Wii and the PS3 for a moment...
PS3
Price:$499(20 gig)
or $599 (60 gig /w HDMI connection, Memory Stick/SD/Compact Flash slots)
Upside:
Blu-ray DvD player from the get-go 8)
Promising free online play that rivals Xbox Live
Motion sensor in controller
Graphics on par with the 360
Downside:
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
No Vibration
Wii
Price:under $250
Upside:
Promises free online play...keeping mum about the rest
The Wii-mote!
Good lineup of games
Web browsing?
Downside:
Wii????
graphics are only slightly better than GameCube

Problem: I'm rather poor...

My source here is 3 months old and I'm too lazy to get a newer source.. so if something is obsolete.. I apologize

I voted PS3, not that I intend on getting one, but because if I was it would be the way to go for me. I just don't play video games regularly enough anymore (with the exception of Guitar Hero I and II, which are my life, lol) to warrent paying $500-$600 for a new system. That's seems absurd to me.
So why did you vote for it if you don't think it's worth the price? That's part of the point.
Because if I WAS to get a system, I'd want the PS3 over the Wii. If there was a "none" option, I would have went with that.

It's worth noting that Super Smash Bros Brawl will use "classic" controllers. :)
It is? Sweet. It wouldn't feel right with the Wiimote.

This is the way things will work for me:

My brother buys the Wii, and I get the Dreamcast (wooo! Railroad Tycoon!).

My younger brother can somehow afford the new systems, I just wait and appropriate them when an even new system comes out, lol.

All my favourite games have been on the PC and I'm staying with that. Besides it's been more than a decade since I owned a console (not counting handhelds).

To quote South Park; "Little boy, pacing up and down outside the store won't make the Wii come any faster"

I stopped caring about consoles the moment Sega stopped making them. And even though I have a PS2, I only use it now as a DVD player.

I'd rather stick with my PC as it has much better games and I can also do this stuff. Can you do that on the Nintendo Wii?

Whoever said the "<3 PC" was because we were going to use them to play video games? :D I'm more a fan of the jack of all trades than the king of one.

You can download the Opera browser for the Wii upon launch for free for up to 6 months, then it's pay to download after that. So, yes, you can surf the internet on the Wii.

Just a couple of afterthoughts I was too tired to bring up last night...
Now, I've always been a huge Nintendo fanboy and have gotten every one of their systems since the NES (except for the Virtual Boy.......*snicker*). Mainly because I just wanted to play the new Mario, Starfox, etc. But the Wii just irritates me for several reasons:
You just pointed out the strongest point of every Nintendo console: the great franchises.
True, but the Nintendo franchises have been sort of a mixed bag in some people's eyes on the Gamecube. Super Smash Bros. Melee and Metroid Prime were some amazing advancements. But I thought Super Mario Sunshine never captured the utter fun of Super Mario 64. I'd say the same for the Star Fox games and Mario Kart: Double Dash. They all felt a little dispointing to me compared to what was on the 64.

But hey, that's more personal taste ^-^
2. The graphics - The graphics of the Nintendo Wii back up my point about focusing too much on the gimmick of the controller. Now, graphics are not the most important thing to me when playing a game. However, if I'm going to shell out $250 for a new system, I would expect a significant graphical improvement. But the Wii is only slightly better than the Gamecube. Nintendo's excuse in that respect was so they could keep the system's price low, but once again I feel a move like that doesn't have the loyal gamers best interests at heart. If you can buy Zelda on the Gamecube and the Wii and have them look very much alike, something's very wrong.
If graphics were everything, gamers would be touring the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Canyon, Space Needle... etc instead of playing games all the time.

The Wii is something like 2x the graphical power of the GameCube. But I don't really care. People bought the NES back in the day, and it wasn't for the realistic graphics. I honestly don't care if I can't see a world reflection in Link's sword, as long as I can kick @$$ with it.
I don't think that's that's a completely fair statement. After all, realistic graphics didn't exist back then. And going from the Atari to the NES was a graphical achievement for the time. You really can't deny that every system launch has featured a significant upgrade when it comes to graphical capability. I'd play a kick @$$ game with chopped down graphics over something pretty any day of the week. I just can't see buying a whole new system when the power is basically there on the Gamecube. Really the only catch is the Wii-mote, which again goes to personal taste.

Incidentally, I don't mean to sound like I'm wishing death to Nintendo or anything. As I said, I've always been a fanboy. I'd be happier if they proved me wrong, rather than right

PC gaming is great because not only is it super expensive, but it becomes obselete quickly, and has the added bonus of some random computer problem accuring to not let you play the game.

Wii the people, in order to form a more perfect consol, establish rights to game freely, crush microsoft, and ensure that link totally kicks ass, do ordain and establish this system for the Uber 1337.
