Well, it's too bad this link isn't popular here. Truth be told, I have never heard the Beatles' performance of the original!
On the subject of misheard lyrics, I own this year's edition of a calendar called "'Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy," and today was one of the rare days in which I had believed the mishearing. The song is 10cc's "I'm Not in Love." I thought the whispered segment was "Requesting quiet," but it turns out to be "Big boys don't cry." I'll have to hear the song again, because it's hard to make that work in my memory.

I'd say there's a degree of mistake in both cases, but speaking for myself I never heard it as koo-koo-kchoo (or anything with k's) even before seeing the album notes. There might be some lyrics in the Anthology albums or book and I suppose that would be the definitive version.I once used that same argument on a teacher of mine for some reason, they asked me if I was more likely to believe some guy in a studio that didn't actually write the song, or my ears.
