The Peranormal (Ghosts)

Postby AvestheFox » Sat Mar 25, 2006 4:19 pm

Brief Warning...
If your a bit frail in mind when it comes to the subject of ghosts and spirits.. or if your real easy to scare, I wouldnt recomend you delving any further in this post unless you do it for the heck of it... Ye be warned.. here thar be ghosts! Arrr!

-Intro---------------------------

Wether you believe in spirits or ghosts or not, its still an interesting topic to research and explore. I've been in the study for two years now, researching and studying the exsistence of the unseen world.

What I've learned may be of little interest to anybody on these forums, but I hope it still may generate some form of interests to anybody who has an open mind.

First of all, I will admit that yes, I am a Christian.. and yes, peranormal studies are concidered evil by my faith... But that hasnt stopped many people even of the Christian faith to delve into the mysterios abyse known as the spirit world. Ghosts are concidered by the Christian faith to be deceptive deamons that pertray a deceased being. But many (mostly Wikans and other witch oriented groups) see ghosts as beings who had died and travelled unto the other side.

But this subject is not about faith or religion... Its a topic about ghosts in general... What are they? Why are they here? I will give a brief anylasis of my research here, including some links to some interesting sites (web safe, and no silly witch craft involved so no worries) First, I wish to touch the most interesting topic on peranormal research, Ghost Photography

Spirit Phertography
A common study amongst Internet spirit enthusiests. On a major note, yes, there are many fakes out there, most especially here on the internet. But there are some photos that cant even be proven fake. Ghost photo researchers have software to determin if the images were messed with or not. Some photos that have not been proven fake and seem authentic have made it far enough even to be shown on Television.

Most ghost photo apearances appear through reflection, or actual materialization on TV or Computer monitors. It is a high belief that spirits feed off energy, and would need allot of energy even to materialize. So a TV monitor or a computer Monitor is no surprize location of a good spirit capture.

Other good captures take place in well known haunts. A cemetary, old abandoned homes, indian reservations, battle fields, aslums, and even hospitols. There are even ghost tours that hobbiests go on just to try and capture the next best thing...

Some people get decent ghost captures just in their own homes (if the place is believed to be haunted)

Now for some pictures... You be the judge... fake or real? I'm sure there's plenty of skeptics here.. but still, feel free to take a look ^^

Look closely at the following image... what do you see? Is it a reflection?
Image

Here's another image of that same Wooden Hutch.. a little closer for your viewing pleasure:
Image

Next we have a webcam view of someone's living room.. please notice, the TV is off:
Image

But as the webcam updates, the viewer sees something pretty odd about the TV...

Next, look closely at this tree... what's that in the trunk?
Image

closer view:

One more...
A woman who is touring an abandoned aslum decides to snap a photo of an old wall mural... Instead of a nice mural.. what does she get?
(warning... VERY disturbing!!! )

To be honest.. I think that last one is a bit fake.. no matter what the experts say! ~_o

Audio (EVP)
Another big study of the Peranorm would be the use of Audio. Ghost hunters always carry a recording device of some sort.. And as they're walking the research field, they try to comunicate with the spirits that inhabit that area... here are some EVP files that are from these research fields..

-recording from a Hollywood Residence------------
The first voice seems to be say - "It's the window". The second voice says something like "Winchester" and the last voice is saying "Are you there"

http://ghoststudy.com/hollywood.wav

-screaming in agony------------------------------
A terrible cry of agony...

http://ghoststudy.com/agony.ram

-Mary... find me--------------------------------
A supposed spirit saying "Mary... find me"

http://www.ghoststudy.com/mary.wav

I've heard much worst MVP's really.. but these will have to do for now ^^

Thats all I can shovel out for now... I'm sure there's plenty of skeptics on this forum... I too am skeptic of just a small portion of the material I submited...

All the material you see here came from the site: http://ghoststudy.com/index.html

the best peranormal research site on the web, in my opinion... plus I'm pretty good friends with most of the moderators on that site, so yea.. I'm a frequent visitor there just as I am here ^^

Some great pics there dude.

Now, I don't believe in Ghosts, Ghouls, Phantoms, or disembodied spirits of people...but there are some things in this world that cannot, or have not been explained. And just because I personally don't beleive that there are dead people walking around on another plain of existance, don't mean that they ain't.

But, I did have a very weird experience with an experiment me and my housemates did.

We set up a video camera so that it was pointing at a TV screen, making sure that the only thing the camera can see is the screen, and not the frame of the screen. Then, we plugged the camera into the TV.

This way, everything the camera sees is on the TV, and everything on the TV is what the camera sees. It is supposed to create a void...like a limbo-esque thing. We then flicked record on the camera and went to the pub. When we got back a few hours later (the camera having run out of tape) we began to watch it. The sounds are VERY creepy and there are...things on the screen that couldn't be there. Nothing like faces or hands, but shapes and flickers that couldn't be there as the camera was recording it's own output.

Try it...it's very odd.

that's just one experiment known for capturing the so called entities... Another would be to set up the cam in a time lapse mode... it records the TV a frame every few seconds... I've seen some pretty freaky results from such an experiment

The tree looks like a trick of the light, I can't see anything in the tv one, the murial one looks like a fake... And am I the only person who sees a monkey in the mirror? A monkey without eyes, but a monkey all the same.

And I speak as someone who believes in ghosts here, incidently :)

Ahh... Didn't notice it... Why have the lighting conditions in the room changed as well as the appearance of the face?

You realize that's just the visual equivalent of a feedback loop, right? The fact is a) the TV still emits some light, even when it's projecting a black image, and b) there may still be glare on the screen. Frame by frame, those light sources were amplified, until you got the dancing shapes.

Yes, I actually did that before, except that I watched the whole thing live, rather than record it.

I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts or not but my mom thinks she saw one once.

I used to be a huge ghost fanatic... now I'm not sure. But this is good stuff!

PS: If the one with the mural is in fact, real (which i doubt it is, by the way), then that's the freakiest thing ever.

Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I do remember another incident at my friend's house. He's got this really heavy bronze statuette of a ballet dancer (well, his mam does) and once we were watching TV round there and it just fell over.

It was really weird, because when we picked it up and tried to knock it over, it took a good push to tip it.

Pretty freaky.

about six years ago my hamster died on Christmas Eve.
Then two years ago, christmas eve, I smalled wood chips and could have sworn I heard a Wheel spinning.
It was a bit freaky.
I think that the idea of actuall "ghosts" Is a bit far fetched. I do howver think that there are beings from byond that can effect the living world in some ways.
As for being afraid of such things, I have a saying:
The dead can't hurt you, it's the living you gotta worry about.

Fear of ghosts may be flawed, but for very different reasons, I'd argue.

Yeah, I think the whole "being afraid of ghosts" thing is humanity's natural fear of the unknown.

As I do not have a belief of the afterlife I do not believe in ghosts.

I beleive in ghosts, the afterlife, and the supernatural. Plain and simple. I've witnessed things that have shaped my beliefs.

There is so much in the world beyond what we 'know'. To dismiss such things because there is no 'scientific' backing to it would be silly.
