I'd say no, but I also see where a connection can be drawn. In Animal Crossing, the animals speak in Animalese, yes, but what the game is actually doing there is using a speach program to interperate the text, so the animals are actually saying what is written down.

In the origional starfox, it was a set of sounds set aside for each type of responce. Distress, and safe. These were set sounds, and didn't follow or interperate the text on screen. In the end, it sounds about the same, however

In the first one their mouths moved at a sane pace, unlike the next one that had them talking like those weird, dancing teeth.

The latter may contradict the later games, but it did have quite a few interesting elements, especially in terms of gameplay mechanics and characters that would later be used in the N64 game. It also added two new characters that haven't appeared in the series since.

There's actually two ROMs of it on the net... and EXTREMELY early beta that doesn't function that well and a pretty much final version that's very playable. The latter has been translated to English by fans, which is nice. I think it's obvious which one you want.

However, unless you crank the difficulty it's WAY too short and easy... but hey, considering that the only way you can get it is on ROM sites (AKA for free), that's not as big a deal as it would have been for a full commercial game release.
