I haven't had any problem on Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6, Netscape 7.2, or Internet Explorer 6 running on Win2000 Pro . . .

I have noticed that this is a finicky program in many ways, though. I didn't realize how finicky until I started letting other people know about this site.

Sorry if it's causing headaches . . .

I'm guessing it's an OS issue, then. IIRC, Mr. Niner runs some version of Linux, so it's not likely to work on any browser there.

Of course, I could be madly jumping to conclusions. Which wouldn't be the first time.

If you want to get technical, here's the list of bugs on my setup:

When the flash is started, the applet takes up only a small part of the window

However, resizing the window reveals that it thinks it takes up the whole thing

If I click on the flashing arrow on the left side of the screen, mozilla-launcher segfaults

I managed to get it to work somewhat better in Konqueror, where, unfortunately, I can't adjust the height of the applet. But I found it to be extremely slow and somewhat limited in its functionality. Personally, I prefer using Google Maps.

I'm sure that Mr. Neave would be very interested in knowing about these issues, since this looks like an experiment, rather than a finished product.

There's a link for questions and comments:

Flash Earth Blog

And, yes, Google Maps does function much more quickly and much more like a finished product than this applet.
