"Billy Shears" was an alias for Ringo Starr, "Polythene Pam" was a song (and a character in said song) by the Beatles, "Plasticine porters with looking glass ties" was a line from "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" (another Beatles song) and "Glass Onion" was yet another of their songs.
