There have been two eplosions, as far as I can gather, on the London Underground at two separate places, and an explosion on a double-decker bus at Tavistock Square. The events are said to be unconnected, but it has been noted that when the Madrid bomb went off, seemingly unconnected events turned out to not be so.

The explosions on the London Underground have been attributed to power surges, though no-one knows why they occurred, and bombs are reported to have been found on three other busses.

The Underground explosions happen - so I'm told - at 8:45-ish, and the bomb on the bus detonated at about a quarter to ten.

Fatalities, of unknown number, are reported to have happened on the bus.

I'll keep you in the loop.

It's the French. They didn't get the Olympics.

Looks like the Associated press has already decided this was an attack, while the New York Times is running with the power surge story.

We shall see.
Latest update: No busses in Zone 1 (Central London) and no tube trains at all. Stations at Brighton and Swindon have been closed because of "Security Incidents".

There have been 6 explosions in all, only one of which is on a bus (Tavistock Place). The rest are at tube stations. There have been trains derailed underground, due to a power surge.

Fatalities aren't confirmed, but there are eyewitness reports of bodies lying on the pavement underneath sheets.

Casualties, though, have been arriving at hopsitals all across London. I can give a provisional list of the tube stations, but it's all academic, really. The two major stations (they're on the Monopoly board) had incidents and were evacuated.

All of the last report was true; but the explosions on the tube happened on between two stations, and there are reportedly people trapped at Euston station. Two people have died at Aldgate East, where people were seen first coming out, covered in blood.

EDIT: The bus, says an American tourist that saw it all happen, was a tourist bus

The explosion reported to be in Houndsditch, is now confirmed to be in Russel Square. Scotland Yard are now considering the possibility of suicide bombers, and now are believing that the power surge was not the cause of the train explosions, but rather caused by it.

EDIT: Parliament suspended.

Now that things have settled down a bit, it's been realised that there were four explosions:

"Blasts occurred:
Between Aldgate East and Liverpool Street tube stations
Between Russell Square and King's Cross tube stations
At Edgware Road tube station
On bus at Tavistock Square"
(From bbc.co.uk)

It would seem that the accounts of seven blasts came from people coming out of stations either side of the destruction, and the mix-up over Houndsditch was probably due to similar location.

Death toll still rising

This is terrible.
I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.

38 deaths, last I heard, and 6 explosions, three buses, three on the Tube (London Underground).

Of course, I'm not sure on that, but I did hear it off the BBC.

We'll get through it, we've experienced this before in Manchester and Canary Wharf and BBC Headquarters, London with the IRA. Not forgetting of course the far greater numbers of bombings in Northern Ireland.

Stupid bloody terrorists.

Damn terrorist bastards.

When I heard about this, my first thought was the IRA, but it seems more likely it was al-Qaeda or a similar group.

For those whose friends or family were casualties, you have my sympathies.
50-something dead.

Why do these Islamic* terrorists (I know that not all Muslims are like that; I actually have a good friend who is one) always pick odd dates. 9/11 = 911 = emergency.
