SUVs are fine in their place. The only trouble is finding said place.

I don't like SUVs either. If I'm going to spend, I don't know, 30 thousand dollars or whatever they cost on a vehicle, I'm going to get a nice car so I at least get decent gas mileage.

I own a tiny, cheap car that seats 5, has good gas mileage and has a 10 year warranty. And that works for me.

I own a large Land Rover that seats 7 and gets 12mpg and requires Premium gas :-P

I also have an Acura Integra that seats 2.5 and gets 35mpg with regular gas.

So, I think I've balanced myself out to about average :-)

The backseat of the Integra has so little legroom that we joke about it being the seat for people with no knees. My seat is always slid back too far to have any hope of putting someone behind me (slid back, not layed back, I'm not one of those goobers who drive laying down :-P ), and the other rear seat has just enough legroom to put a tiny person in it.

So, it's effectively a 2-seater sportscar with extra seatbelts :-)

There's nothing wrong with a car catching fire and there's no shame in it.
