Could you get the original and turn it into a PNG for us so we can get the matching exact?

The color sheet I posted up in my "Methods" section is not the one I use. The one I use is in photoshop format for easy editing.

Whaddaya think? Is this House Rules material?

As for all that layers stuff, I still don't get it. Lucky for me, though, Paintshop Pro 7's paintcan thingamajiger has a multiply option. What I hate about the [FamilyOriented]goshdarn[/FamilyOriented] thing is that if I don't first select an area before filling, it fills the entire image.

I'm not sure if I want to be a House Rules member. I doubt that I'd be able to churn out as many comics a week as any of you guys do. Mostly because I am [Frustrated to the point of F-ing Losing it, but keeping calm] F-in stuck with the GOSHDARNED crappy methods that I am using now. St00pid Friggin paintshop Pro 7 !1!1!!! Between work and my long drawn out precise method of doing it (alot of it pixle by pixle when I can't use the fill tool) Its taken me about a week just to do this one. [/Still pissed off at how you guys can do it with ease, but I can't, therefore I look like an idiot for taking a week to color one strip, but I've vented some anger now so I'm calming down now...]

Well, I see Caigan's point about the whole 'One person should do the whole story arc' thing. Therefore, maybe I can simply do a story arc every now and then. Then maybe that can go on House Rules. Seeing as I already colored one strip, I might as well do the whole Shelley story arc eh?

P.S., I put this together for anyone who wants to color Shelley for any miscellaneous reason, like say, making a color avatar out of a black and white strip that I (or someone else) haven't colored yet.

EDIT: I didn't save this color guide thing as jpg. Rather, I reduced the color pallet and saved it as gif.

Some constructive criticism on coolsteve64's work there:

Second panel: The white on Shelley's hands should extend down past her wrists

Last Panel: Llewellyn. especially his face, is very...choppy. You went over the outlines too much.

Last Panel: Llewellyn's mouth is uncolored. But that's a very easy mistake to make.

Second panel: The yellow arcs of electricity/zen/enlightenment/whatever are choppy, similar to LLewellyn's face

There are several places where the background shows through where it should not. Expecially Llewellyn's face-fins in the last panel. There are also a few uncolored pixels.

My suggestion: learn to use layers, along with the "multiply" layer style. The polygonal lasso tool is especially helpful in making correct selections.

I suppose I could post something describing my methods, if you wish.

EDIT: Here is (roughly) the process in PSP, with an example attached.
1. Open file, convert to 16 million colors (Image>Increase Color Depth>16 million colors)
2. Create a new multiply layer. (Click "New Raster Layer" button and select "Multiply" as the layer mode")
3. Choose a section to color and select it. (Click the "Freeform selection" tool and set it to "Point-to-point" mode. Then use it to outline the area you wich to color.)
4. Fill your selection with the appropriate color.
5. Repeat 3 & 4 as necessary.

And here's something I did quickly in PSP:
Hold the newsreader's nose squarely, waiter, or friendly milk will countermand my trousers.

Steve, don't get so frustrated over it, your new to the whole CG coloring thing, so don't expect to produce the Mona Lisa on your first 10 or even 100 tries. The point is to keep trying and trying and practicing and practicing. =)

Right now the team has all the members I want. I only wanted three (including me) to begin with, but Ghost and Octan are waaay too good to choose only one.

Keep coloring, steve, and get that practice in! Don't get so frustrated either, it takes time. =)
