Did you hear, there was an entire temporary rip created in the earth's crust from the earthquake that triggered it.

The CNN account in the US focused on Thailand, the place with the closest populated region, but made mention of every region affected, including Africa, which often gets ignored in US news. They made special note of the concern for the fishermen, and the lost jobs assosiated with the impact to the fishing industry. This was surprising, as normally they would focus on the lost revenue. I bet Fox news put monitary loss to US corperations first, followed by worldwide monitary loss, then delays in shipment, and then deaths and regional economic impact.

The North Pole was moved by a good 10 feet or so if that's what you meant by that.
This signature may spontaneously combust at any given moment. Make sure there's a fresh can of gasoline handy.

The waves were going at over 500kph, apparently. That's about 310 mph by the way.
Also, an interesting tidbit I've heard is that there has not been any corpses of wild animals found. It is suspected that the animals "sensed" the Tsunami and headed for higher ground.

And people say that humans are smarter...
