It works on both levels. The lyrics are practically Millie's philosophy in a nutshell. Screw Nirvana and the like -- this is her real favorite song! (I wonder if Simpson's ever heard it.) And the tune (I didn't expect this when I read the lyrics -- I was expecting almost a punk/MEHTUL sound) is singable, hummable...doggone it, it's CATCHY! I've had it stuck in my head all afternoon. Perfect for the kind of TV cartoon that the strip would translate to: edgier than a kids' cartoon but not exactly "The Simpsons" either. And Waffle, I can totally see the sequence you described! Although for some reason I'm picturing the strip's original style rather than the current one. (Maybe because it's the only style in which Ozy's ever played the guitar.) I need to get to work drawing a storyboard of this -- this is serious!

Those of you that have Winamp, there is a music video of the song at the Winamp site. I think that it would be a interesting idea for a flash movie. The song would have to be reduced to a TV size to give the true style.

we would have to change some of the lyrics in order for it to fit Ozy and Millie a little better. For example the one that Kles brought up I cant see Millie saying that either. I have yet to hear the whole song but I at least have it on my computer now.

(Yes! Got it!) Yeah that start of the song really gives you the feeling of being young and rebelious and having fun like Ozy and Millie do. That scene of Ozy playing the accoustic then Millie stealing his hat when the singing startss is probably the best you can get.

Har, lemme rephrase. I can SEE Millie screaming that out but I doubt that she would. <img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... s/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /> Maybe it's just me, or is a TV show going to have to comprimise? I mean, it just wouldn't seem right. It'd have a kiddie-like appearance, but sort of a teen like theme. It just wouldn't appeal to anyone. I mean, sure it works on the net but anything works on the net. <img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> Of course, if done right, we'd all love it but I just don't think it'd be profitable, that's all.

Like I said before, there's a "radio edit" version of the song on one of the singles; I haven't heard it but I'd guess the lyric is changed to "Screw 'em all." I hadn't thought about it but I guess it is against FCC rules to use the f-word on broadcast radio, just like it is on TV. Anyway the song would have to get trimmed to about a minute to be used as a TV theme song. I fiddled with the mp3 in Nero Wave Editor and Windows Sound Recorder and I have a mock-up of what the shortened version might sound like. It only has one verse, taking care of the problem without having to change the lyric. Making it was something of a pain... But I don't think I can post it 'Cause there's nowhere I can host it And I'll never trust that Ripway site agaaaaaaain! Oh nooooooooo! Here's the 62-second version. It's a bit choppy in places, and the instrumentals don't quite line up, but it gives a good idea of what the final theme-song version would have to sound like. Note that I combined the first half of the second verse with the first half of the second verse, thus removing the parts that were a little disturbing ("I pledge allegiance to the underworld" etc.), the parts that made no earthly sense, and of course the word that has no place in anything related to "Ozy and Millie." I put it in a zip file so I could post it; hope that's not a problem. Really good job on the editing, I could hardly tell the "cut lines" were even there. Good job!
