Tacoma is right near Seattle . . . If you ever fly through Seattle, the airport is in SeaTac, which is a town halfway between Seattle and Tacoma.

In Washington State!? Holy f***, that's a long way away!<br><br>I think we should have it at a nice, central location, like the core of the Earth! It's equidistant to everyone, and it's a tropical area <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well, maybe someplace like Dallas. Houston's too far south... Anyone live north of TX?

I'm in Virginia, but I can reasonably travel as far south as Florida, or as far north as Pennsylvania (not going further north than that, too many toll roads and mean drivers).

The best I can think of is what was already mentioned: get together at a larger, pre-existing con and meet as a small little sub-faction. And even if we can't do a universal one, maybe some people who live in regions near each other could have smaller meets (i.e. a meet in the northwest, one in the mid-atlantic, one in Texas, etc.)

Mmm. That would work. Instead of one large bananacon organise it as a bunch of small bananaettacons. Or peelcons. Or... Screw it, I'm sure someone else can come up with a better name for a small componant of a banana better than I can.<br><br>So, how many people are in the UK <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think we'd need more fans to get it to be a decent convention.<br>Cuz you gotta account for the 80% that can't go to it.

You don't actually need a lot of people to have a great convention. The thing with small conventions is that you tailer the content to the amount of people.<br><br>At a certain point, the 'convention' essentially turns into 'a group of people with similar interest having a great time while hanging out'<br><br>...Waitasecond, isn't that what a convention's meant to be anyway?<br><br>(I have been to a 'convention' of three people. The fact the thing was an interenational one is the scary thing)

Yeah, those pesky oceans always have a way of coming between two continents.

YOu have to start small and build up. Anthrocon supposedly was a spinoff of another con. Can'tt rememebr which one off hand, you have to ask somebody like Pandaguy.

OK I'm from the UK and I live near Coventry. I won't be more specific here. A location in the UK would be helpful cos althouth we're only about as long as Texas is wide its still quite a way to travel.
