This is probably my favourite movie of all time, or at least one of them. I'm no big "Anime" fan, but I saw this DVD sitting there on the shelf, and thought it looked interesting. Man, was I right. I love it. Also, if you didn't know any better, you wouldn't know it was an Anime. It's a wonderful, lighthearted film, which has very good animation and action for a film made in the 70's. It also began my love for the Lupin character. It's such an interesting concept, and I think Lupin needs more attention outside of Japan.

So, anyone else seen this masterpiece film? What are your opinions.

I love anime. Such great stuff.

Lupin is actually a series, too.
It was on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network for awhile, but I don't know if it still is.

I think the best series I've ever seen was Cowboy Bebop. The meanings in it were so deep and the action was smooth and sweet.

I'm a somewhat avid collector. I know which are the "must-have" anime movies.
If you haven't seen AKIRA, I suggest you do it. Honestly one of the most famous and best.

Used to have a Suncoast in town, but it moved away.
And I had just recently joined the Replay Membership thingy, too.

Man I wish I got a copy of that when I had the chance, haven't seen it offered in years.

As to Akira, yuck, I don't see what people liked about that anime, it was pretty awful in my oppinion.

Now if you want a good classic anime, I'd recomend Demon City Shinuku,

Lupin has to be the best, especially since I have an uncontrollable fondness of Miyazaki.
He only did some episodes of the series.
I haven't seen the movie.
However, it's a masterpiece.

Yay! I love Lupin. Definitely a must-see for any anime fan. (And for non-anime fans, for that matter. Even my parents liked it. )

Oh...and I will lend my support for those who disliked Akira. It wasn't *too* bad, but not my favorite either.

I remember seeing Lupin on Adult Swim and liking it. I've never saw the movie however... Pretty cool idea though. I've heard loads about Akira as well (from my dad of all people), havn't had a chance to rent it yet though (damn no NetFlix subscription :-P).

While we're on the topic I've always liked the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Its the touching story of a young schoolgirl who, unbeknownest to her, is secretly god. Or something.

Also, Death Note. Which features a notebook. That kills people. To death.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

Why resurrect a topic just to ask someone who hasn't been here in over 4 years a question?
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I'm so drunk right now. For real.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...
