also, the dA mods are assholes. I drew a collection of pixelart, and because ONE of them was slightly more "hand-drawn" than it was "pixel-built", they changed its category and I wasn't able to move it back.

yes. but also I hate any website community in which it's impossible to know all the people. or at least all the people who post frequently enough to recognize them

(dA, 4chan, go-gaia, et cetera)

dA is an exception though, because it has purposes other than just-a-message board. it's more like a social art-posting site.
