well, Caoimhin, there are actually a LOT of [stupid] atheists that call themselves such merely because they didn't like their parents', or their church's Christianity. Like, they were sexually harassed by their preacher or they were told that god killed their pet for not doing the dishes (which realistically, I think would just make you hate your parent not the religion they brought you up with). IMO, I agree that it doesn't make any sense for someone to be an atheist because they kind of believe in god, but don't like him because of their past experiences. I guess it's in the same vein as people who consider all atheists to be violent, lustful, gluttonous, et cetera. It's just ignorant misconception of what it means to not believe in god.

I think it's both. Those people have a more valid reasoning for being atheists. it's the people that simply are atheist because they hate the christians they know that are dumb

Religion is just a popular topic, and it encompasses a lot of sub-topics, like wars, insane christians, insane muslims, stupid christians (by stupid I mean especially more than the insane ones), and this little conversation right here. You see this everywhere, and if you'll look where this conversation spawned from, you'll see it had nothing to do with you.
How does this show you have self control, anyway? Self control over what? Starting a religious argument, or engaging in one?

Oh yeah, some people leave them in the open, because people tend to click links just because they're there. Most, of course, hide the link like yourself, Anami, myself, and quite a few others.
