I'd do a helluva lot more than that for a Klondike Bar.

I got my parcel yesterday. It contained:

* a nice handwritten letter, addressed to me (very nice)
* a certificate of merit, made out to me, from rabid_fox's school (I assume)
* two scraps of paper with scribbles on them (confiscated by rabid_fox during one of his classes?)
* a shaving razor (it's cold and it stings)
* a single black sock (very soft)
* an audio CD (I forget whose)
* wacky British money (inside the sock)
* wacky British candy (not inside the sock)

The whole thing smelled... strangely nice. Especially the sock.

Thanks, rabid_fox. I love randomness.

I'll post a picture tonight if I remember.

The sock that I received also smells very nice.

Also, rabid_fox listens to The Mountain Goats!?

Contents (from left to right [sort of]):
- 9 candies of assorted shapes, sizes, and colors
- a lovely sheet of poetry, including such favorites as "Reflection on Ice-breaking" by Ogden Nash and "Celia Celia" by Adrian Mitchell
- some scholarly writings
- a Tesco receipt
- Steve Vai's Fire Garden
- a Tesco Sport voucher
- a certificate of merit
- a letter with rabid_fox's picture on it
- what appears to be a ticket to a French film festival
- a dark grey sock
- a padded envelope (used for shipping)
- a plastic razor
- burned-out incense(?)
- 17 pence

Quite a haul, I must say! Thanks, rabid.

Oh snap I forgot! I also received:

* a page torn out from a book
* a ticket stub from... something

So it looks like we received very similar stuff, except you got one more thing than I did (the incense).

I didn't notice the incense at first as it was stuck to one side of the package. I found it only after a secondary inspection. :o

The teacher in me insisted that the whole thing be fair and that everyone got similar items.

Also, of course I listen to "The Mountain Goats". Fantastic tunesmithery.

You're now about three times cooler than before in my imaginary book of coolness.

People actually gave their address to this guy?!

Who are you people?!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

And a concoction so multi-coloured in my glass that it felt awful black and whiting that avatar. Alas, alas, tradition is tradition.

I must say, this is the most original way of getting rid of random crap that I've ever seen :p

Everyone accumulates these miscellanea. I redistribute rather than discard. Also, I like writing letters. More people should write letters to people they don't know.
