Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather see this strip end soon with dignity than for it to be dragged out after David has lost creativity for it and start to suck.
Yes, I agree with this. Few things are worse than watching something formerly great degrade into crap.

"Peanuts" is a great example. No disrespect to Schultz, but he's been dead for years, and The Washington Post (et al) are still running old Peanuts strips.

I'm not very saddened by this announcement. I feel that the quality of the story arcs has slowly been going downhill, and that an ending would be a good idea here. There's only so much material that 8/10 year olds can give (12 years? Not a bad run).
Anami and Anami are sitting around Anami says "GRR I AM ANGSTY LET'S EXPRESS ANGST" and so Anami says "ONE OF THE MODS ON DC IS A DICK I POSTED A PICTURE THAT WASN'T REALLY THAT INAPPROPRIATE AND THREE MODS SAW IT AND DID NOTHING THEN A FOURTH ONE SAW IT AND DELETED IT" and Anami says "OMG I HATE MODS >:("

NASCAR was never great to begin with though.

That's debatable, considering NASCAR is the #2 spectator sport in America (NFL is #1). Drivers like Richard Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Jeff Gordon, and of course, the Earnhardts.

just full of rednecks.

I am sad to see this strip end, because this and another one I read are ending this year (if the other one updates the rest of the strips, because she didn't update for a LONG time [Christmas arc] until March 31st, and hasn't since), and two more I read are ended as of the very end of last year (Krakow and Perry Bible Fellowship), but I still have plenty left to cover that base.

also, I am very interested in seeing them in high school. it will be fun, no doubt.

QFT.
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Really? So, you're calling Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Patrick Carpentier, etc (all of whom came from IndyCar or F-1) rednecks?

This is all that needs to be said.

Difference between NASCAR and open-wheel racing:

Open-wheel: One minor hit ends your day.
NASCAR: Bumping and banging is part of the race, and can make for exciting racing (especially on the last lap), and the races can be decided by less than a second, unlike open-wheel where the winner is often several seconds to a full minute ahead of second place. That's not racing, that's parading, and very boring.

F1 is far more exciting IMO.

I think it is for the best that O&M be drawn to a close. You can tell that it has started to lose energy recently. Better to go out strong than to keep pressing forward as the strip loses its luster.
