If Garfield is so unloved (as that YTMND animation claims), why is it listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most syndicated comic strip in the world? (2,580 newspapers carry it. Quite a lot for a comic that "nobody cares about")
What's a newspaper?

Fritz, this place is acerbic enough without your contribution. Please.

I learned of the Garfield-free strips only a few weeks ago. A year or so before that, I'd seen strips in which only Garfield's thought bubbles were removed. Those are about equally funny overall.

Well that's what Wikipedia is for.

There was also an article about "Garfield minus Garfield" in the March 31 edition of Time Magazine.

If you seriously haven't seen garfield with garfield removed then you haven't been on the internet very long :X
I guarantee you I've been on the internet longer than you. Maybe I just have a life in addition to being on the internet?

Oh SNAP Fritz.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

This is the first time I've seen this as well. Doesn't seem to strange to me but then again I'm not the biggest Garfield fan.

That book is just further proof to me that Davis and co. had more creativity and writing talent than most people give them credit for... and which they, for the most part, have completely squandered.

Also, Fritz, are you sure you're not confusing this with the one where Garfield is still there but his thought bubbles are taken out?

Also, Lasagna Cat.

My favorite story from "Garfield: His 9 Lives" was the Vikings one.

Seen it a while ago, still hilarious.
