Heh now your starting to sound like them. but your right it probly would be more fun that way.i will point out that its much more fun if you go willingly.I know what you mean. I used to have friends until i moved. Now when they come up they drag me out of the house and force me to socialize.my friends made me do stuff in public and attend events and talk.

Astro> gforce's smiles can cure cancer in kittensgforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.
Astro> the happiness radiating from your person is enough to solve tensor calculus

And I will point out that such a situation requires you to perform much kicking and screaming to protest the event.i will point out that its much more fun if you go willingly.I know what you mean. if you dont go willingly, that is also fun.
what you SHOULD do willingly is visit the IRC.

I had some trouble getting there, too. I ended up switching computers (though some don't have that option) and getting in with my Mac. Had to download a plug-in, I think. (After downloading the plugin on my Ubuntu box, it still didn't work. That's when I switched to my Mac.)I tried getting on the IRC but i'm having a little trouble. I think somethings not loading right.
You might want to make sure Java is enabled on your web browser. I usually have it off, so that compromised sites can't drag me around with it. (I've seen it happen. There is little that annoys me faster.)
Aside from that, I have no idea what it could be. Others may have better advice.

The java irc kinda assumes you have java installed; http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp will go far for this end. Either way, a reinstall may help regardless of whether it's installed, didn't integrate right, or gnomes ate your connection.I tried getting on the IRC but i'm having a little trouble. The other thing I can think of is that you accidentally pressed esc or no to the java warning, but you would at least load some screen that tells you a socket failed to connect.
Alternatively download something like mIRC or chatzilla, that's more certain to work ^_____^
