Hmm, that sounds like a good idea for a superhero

*dons a red spandex suit* It's a fur, it's a train! It's Yellow Dog, spreading the Red Menace everywhere he goes! You better watch out, or he'll turn you into a pinko, and then you'll vote for him before you vote for the grande old party!

Wow, the poli compass really hijacked this thread.

But, since we're on the subject, I got:

Economic Left/Right: -6.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.56.

I found this to be a loaded question:
A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.
I mean, that's not an opinion. One person or a bunch of like-minded people are going to do things faster than a bunch of different factions. It doesn't mean I'd support it.

I think the thing being argued there are the words "A significant advantage". One might think the arguments that delay progress are essential to a political system, in that it creates better decision-making. So in that respect, its not a loaded question.

A lot of these questions would be really good debate topics.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Most of them are supposed to be loaded like that; it's what they use to figure out how moderate/extreme you are.

Well, better a Political Note than a Death Note anyway.

I'm seeing a trend. Wonder if anyone else sees it. (Hint: look at all our scores.) Does this say anything about us, or the forum, or Ozy and Millie, or am I just over-thinking things?

I think it says politics is skewed to the top right; that may be one reason the younger generation doesn't vote as much (or a consequence, depending on how you look at it).

I'm surrounded by socialists/leftists! :-P

I'm way more to the center, though still in the same quarter of the graph as most of you. Arloest's scores are very similar to mine.

I think it was fairly obvious before this that a lot of us here, and Ozy and Millie readers in general I'd guess, would have scores similar to these.

Thought this might be the case. Haven't seen anyone in any of the other quadrants yet. Wonder where Ozy and Millie themselves would end up...? Off the chart in one direction or another? Ozy seems likely to share this corner with us.

Uhh. *puts on tomato-proof overcoat*

(edited to add the following observation)
Thought this might be the case. Haven't seen anyone in any of the other quadrants yet.
I seem to be the only one in the *world* who's in the purple quadrant. Check out the International chart, and the US Primary 2008 chart. Nobody else is there. It's so lonely down here in Purpleville...
