Dogby is one of the best dog names.

I like the concept, and I love the artwork, but I fear that the jokes would get old fairly quickly, or that the material would run dry after a very short time. There just aren't that many jokes you can make about blogs and blogging.
Well, obviously he'd branch out from that. I think what he has so far looks great.

I especially like the Maureen Dowd one. (She's an editoralist* for the NYTimes, if you didn't know. The thing that makes it funny, of course, is that she can be a bit...catty...)

*Brand new word. Just made it up right now. Take that, Shakespeare!

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

I think a lot of this premise is going to be a branching point for I Drew This style commentary -- in other words, Two Left Wings with a dog instead of an eagle.

What I want to know is, if this gets into papers, would David be creating an actual "Dogby" blog as a tie-in for the comic? That would be cool, though it would likely end up replacing the existing I Drew This website.

Only one I can think of that's better is Dogbert. :D

Looks every bit as cute as O&M, but... did he give up on "Raine the Doggy" as a series?
I think this idea is independent of that...
I figured that much. I just find it hard to get excited about his plan for another comic when the last one got abandoned.

But at least this time, he'd presenting actual strips and not just sketches.

I kinda like the idea, but I won't be convinced until I see more strips. I can't make an honest judgement with just three.

Not bad, not bad, I like the art. Just wonder if he'll have time to keep 3 comics updated daily...

2, actually. "I Drew This" never updated on a daily basis, and at this point is all but on hiatus. I think he'll manage. (Bill Holbrook has had three comic strips, two of which were syndicated, for the longest time, all of which update every day as far as I know.)

Almost. "Safe Havens" doesn't update on Sundays. Still, that's 20 strips per week.

It's really cute and pretty funny (though I have no flipping idea who Maureen Dowd is). But it doesn't quite seem like my cup of tea. I'm more interested in the Raine Doggy project.

Two more

(Though DCS notes that he's not quite satisfied with these ones.)

Wahaha, second one rocks. No respect, indeed. :-P

Text dump in the first one kinda ruins the pacing.
