Well no topic was created so far, and I know a few, myself included, are trying this year. Discussion?

I'll try to find out the specifics, but some guy wrote a book which would have been the longest novel in the English language, except that 1) it was self-published, which to some people "doesn't count", and 2) several thousand of the pages consisted of nothing but the word "thanks" over and over again.

I've made a point to average at least 2,000 words a die. Doing well so far. It's already longer than any fiction or school assignment I ever wrote, and I'm just getting started.

I'm falling behind my target a little, going to have to catch up soon or I'll never reach 50,000 :?

HTF did that happen? I wasn't even thinking morbidly at the time.

I've just broken 20,000 words. Happy!

Also, word wars are a really good way to get in those extra words, try them. There are loads of threads on them on the NaNoWriMo forums, and you can choose 5, 10, 15, 30 minute word wars. Got 1054 words in 30 minutes just now.

You won't be so happy when you have to clean up all those broken words.

Can't believe I missed this wonderful pun.

Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a NaNoWriMo "You are awesome" certificate, or whatever it says on it. 50,000 words of utter rubbish in a month. I'm going to sleep now, and not wake up until next year.

I went about 900 words over the lower limit.
