Concept Sketches

Postby Rooster » Tue Sep 18, 2007 9:45 pm

Some sketches, ideas, and the like for my project. Of course, at this stage I don't have a graphic's tablet (which I how I'm planning on doing it) so it's mainly pencil sketches of some concepts and character designs.

Tell me what you think, any critacism is welcome so long as it's constructive :wag:

Vehicles have always been weird with me...I've been drawing them from the sides in profile shots since I was about 7...it's when they're "3-d" so to speak that I start sucking anus ^^;

Well you see that would maybe be the reason why you're having trouble drawing them in 3-d.

I like the gun at the top, and how it's like a combination of all those different designs. And I was wondering, how do you cock the gun? I don't see the thing you pull on it to chamber a round(I think it's called the hammer), or can you not see it from that angle? Or is it on the other side? Or am I just not seeing it at all? Anyways, the characters all look nice, nothing I see that needs much improvement. Vehicles also look sweet. Overall, great job!

Actually, on this type of gun, it's called a bolt. :wag: And yup, it's on there. It's either the long gray bar towards the middle of the gun, or it's right above the magazine.

And yes Roo, you've done good this time!!! :P
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

I gotta admit, I never expected my style to evolve to look much like your bipedal lupines. You have influential style 8)

Nice work, but explain something to me. Why do you draw males with fur beards?
Furries? Are they the nutters that pretend to be animals and draw humans that look like animals? Christ, I sink my head into my paws... -Rooster

Because anything except for cheese is made more awesome by a beard.

Not all male Lupines, but it's just what happens when the fur isn't trimmed once a month. The females would get them too, but like humans, the females tend to care more about their appearence. Some "breeds" of Lupines don't get them, but those based on the more wolven genestocks have them.

Artisitcally though, I usually use them to indicate either age (like Jessup who's 57) or lifestyle (Rufus is a bit of a hippy). Also, it's another way of making them look more different to each other :wag:

Yeah, but tables are like rules. There to be broken :D
