What I'm saying is, don't sit around here announcing your ignorance of one of the greatest comic strips in the history of the medium. Shut up and go read some. You could just do what I did when I was 13 and visit your local library.

I could, would, and have said the same about Steve Bell's IF.

Also, it's easier to get drugs at my local library than books...and I really doubt they've got books by a cartoonist I've never heard anyone other than an American talk about.

Your library sounds like a magical place.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

Anyone who's got some knowledge of cartooning history will know of Walt Kelly. Pogo wasn't his only work, he did some animation for Disney too in the 30's I believe. Though you may be right that Pogo books might not be so easily find in Britain.

I did try my library, but all they had in the way of cartooning books was one called "History of Sequential Art" or something, and it didn't mention Kelly once. Mentioned Calvin and Hobbes and Doonesbury though, as well as IF.
