LOL. The third panel is like the light bulb of realization turning on for Millie. hehehehehe. I dread the day if she ever becomes a Politician. Heck She could talk forever.
Hmm. I think she might be crazy, but she'll still do the right thing.

Personally, I think Ms. Mudd looks better, in panel two.

Sage knows what I'll say about this. MILLIE PANEL THREEEEEEEEEEEEE
Sorry I've been gone guys... this game is addicting! At least to me... I'm sure I'll get back to "normal" schedule of doing stuff when school rolls around...

What game is that?
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

(Re-posted from House Rules forum, also fixing image link)
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by posting this, just wanted to have fun coloring a strip. I was going to color Millie in panel three, but decided to try leaving her un-colored for effect :)

I think I need to practice more, still a little ruff around the edges. I was going to color an early strip, but the newer ones are much easer

Would love to get constructive criticism on this, it's my first time coloring a comic strip.

Don't worry, nobody's going to hurt you by supplying our favourite strips with colour, making them even better. :P

To get the edges right, there's a few tricks. First of all, if you're using Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (strongly recommended!), you'll need to use layers to get the best results. Make a layer on top of the original image; the original remains untouched throughout the colouring. Set the layer you create to 'multiply' blending, so that anything you paint on it gets mixed into the layer below. Anything on white gives what you painted, anything on black gives black. That way, you keep the lines tidy while still being able to colour, same as any old colouring book. It's just a matter of staying inside the lines now. :P

Ahh, I was using layers for color and background, but I was using the magic wand to select everything and painting over that with my drawing pad. I'll try freehand next time and see how it goes. Thanks for the tips, I'm new to this so I could use all the tips I can get :)

Well, for convenience I usually use the magic wand to catch most of the area. I select the area, then expand the selection by 1 pixel; this will take most of the edges with it. Then I fill the area, and go over the edges to make sure I didn't miss a few spots, fix if necessary. Though for smaller areas I don't bother and just colour by hand.

Still, the multiply blending is the most important, really. If your program supports it (as mine does, PSP X) you could try making several colouring layers, representing the layers in the picture. Like characters, other objects, background, foreground, etc. Then group all of those into a single 'colour' layer group. Set that group to 'multiply', while keeping all the individual layers on 'normal'. That way, you can paint the background behind the characters without affecting them (since the character layer is above the background layer) but still take advantage of the multiplying.

Ok, I was using a single layer for all coloring, using multiply. I'm using Photoshop CS2, should I work the same. I tend to fill with the wand, then use my digipad to touch up the missing pixels. I'll try expanding by 1 pixel and see if that helps, I'll have to look up how to do that :) Thanks!

If you like that, you might want to have a look at http://www.houserules.org.uk. It's a collection of coloured strips from various fans and DCers, including myself. [/shamelessad]

Charles Earle Funk's Thereby Hangs a Tale, a book about curious word origins, had a darn long entry for "filibuster." Alas, he failed to clarify how its meaning got transferred into the political arena.
