I'd draw the parallel between when the characters in the strip (eg., Timulty, Millie, Ozy etc) are naked - this isn't any different to me.
Then you are in quite the minority.
Heh, I'm meaning in terms of non-arousing humor/innocence.

Then you are in quite the minority. Can you imagine Bugs Bunny with visible unmentionables in a canon animation?

...Don't answer that.
Or a sockful of nickles.
Alas, with the central theme of this thread, I initially misread "nickles."

I would have generally had the same feelings towards it. I say generally, because the depiction still woudn't bother me and I would still find it funny. However, knowing how D.C.S. feels about his characters and what has happened in the past, I'd be concerned whether he'd find it appropriate or not. Working to be one myself, I just always have a soft spot for the original creator's feelings.

Depends. If it were drawn by Andrew Mutchler or Albert Temple (in their signature styles, presumably), I wouldn't think much of it. If it were drawn by Bill Holbrook, I'd bury my head in the sand.-

Now, imagine this exact same picture (with or without the writing) had been drawn by another person (perhaps one who's art/drawing history differed in subject to David's). How would you have reacted then?

I'm not making any point, I'm just curious how you'd feel under this circumstance.
Odds are, in that case, it would have been drawn either purely for pornography, or specifically to spite DCS; in either case, it would have been hugely disrespectful to the original artist, creator, and owner of Raine as a character.p
