Age Differences

Postby Simba Cub » Wed Dec 20, 2006 3:44 pm

Is it just me or have Ozy & Millie grown up over the last few years? I mean physically - they seem to be more mature and grown up.

Thoughts?

I remember David writing a year or two back that he wanted to involve Ozy and Millie (and other characters) in more mature stories and situations that would give each more depth.

Maturity isn't always in tandem with age. Until David says otherwise I don't think they have aged.

They might "look" older because of David's evolving art style but perhaps different people see different age possibilities when they see Ozy and Millie.

Except for when DCS bumped them from age 8 to age 10, I really haven't noticed much difference, except in Millie's craziness....

no, their ages have remained constant. they don't have to age for the storylines to be different.

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

Ozy & Millie changed, They rarely play with each other anymore It's like they are not kids anymore,

But the age never changed Except for when DCS bumped them from age 8 to age 10

I hadn't noticed, but you're right: they don't play much anymore. Millie may do fun things to Ozy, but Ozy seems content to converse, meditate, and do little else.

He's so zen, in other words.

I'm so zen, I'm zen by not being zen.

Yeah, they don't play much anymore ("Tales of Planet Q"!) but they still "play" (hang out) together, obviously.

Well, I think Planet Q and the earlier strips were more of a Calvin and Hobbes type of strip. However, in more recent years, I find the strip has become deeper in it's storylines, but I still see some of the old lightheartedness in the newer strips.

Back when I first found Ozy & Millie and had only read the most recent strip, I thought they were supposed to be teenagers. Not until after I read through the archives did I realize they were younger.

C&H had a lot of times that they were just talking, too. Not even riding a sled or wagon each time.

Heh, I sense flashback material.

"The 12 Months of Nine Years Old" or something.
