It might have to do with my lurking for eight months without registering a username...

(Yeah, I used to do that. A lot. I lost interest in most of the boards I tried it on, so it saved me from having yet another vector for stealing my password... Also, I never understood the point of registering if I wasn't going to contribute for the forseeable future.)
