Yeah, that was one awesome movie. Usually anime motion pictures based on TV series end up less than stellar, but this one (like the show) was a nice surprise. I can't wait to see it with the English voice cast.

The ending sucks, bring back capital punishment to punish it's makers! Or you know just skip it xD

From a fans point of view, it's not really what you want to see. From a storytelling/ film appreciating point of view, it's kind of nice.

Not really, just looks more like they've bowed to the pressure that they'll need to sequel it so copped out and forcefully chosen an ending that leaves it open for a new series/movie...

I guess though alot of popular animes/anime movies do that.

Not completely. You have to remember the Japanese have a different way of looking at storytelling than other audiences do. Most Japanese viewers are content with open endings. Conversely, the average American wants everything wrapped up in a nice little package so they don't have to think too hard.

I wouldn't have minded an open ending but the FMA ending seems more like an afterthought then a solid ending ^_^

Yes people said that the Fellowship of the Ring "sucked" where I live, because most people didn't like that it ended openly. Of course they adhered to this belief even though I told them that it was originally series of books, and was going to be a series of movies. However the same people liked the new Starwars... People can be so stupid at times. I've wanted to watch FMA in its etirety for a long time, but I've never really gotten a chance. However, it IS a really awesome show, and I'm interested in seeing the movie once I watch the series.
