To all the "in" artists, I'd like to say:
HA TAKE THAT TUNELESS ONES!!!
Great strip! I was laughing for a long time after reading it. And the fact is, it's so true...so many people listen to terrible music just because it's considered cool. So, now, whenever someone berates me because Counting Crows are my favourite band, I shall point them to this strip!
I like Counting Crows too. I've got most of their albums.
Awesome! Same here. Counting Crows. There is no substitute.

Something tells me that this is based on DCS's experience. We all like her taste in music now, but it might have come as a surprise to her back in grade school.

I like very little new music these days, especially when it's very popular. The Grammys are about the last awards show you'll catch me watching.

You mean karaoke?
If so, then yes I agree with you.

So doesn't Felicia's acknowledgement of the fact that her music sucks trigger a paradox that will unravel the universe as we know it?.........just wanna be sure so I can put on my helmet.

This was a good strip. These conversations always make me think of the other end of the spectrum as well: people who dislike a band or singer simply because they're popular. They'll never even give their album or song a listen, but will hate them to know end simply because the rest of the world is crazy about them. That's always seemed unfair to me. Sure, a lot of pop is hollow repackaged crap. However, there's still plenty of groups out there who are popular for a reason. I've just never understood why so many people are either so for popular music or so for unknown artists. I mix and match myself.

Everyone input bets now for what you think Millie will suggest. Accepted forms of wagers: Candy, hugs, and high-fives.

That's because being the other end of the spectrum has become popular. Trying to act like you don't care is just another way of getting attention. It's reverse psychology for idiots.

Millie will probably start with something older that Felecia hasn't heard of. I put three Rutabegas on anything any of the Beatles did, and three more on John Lennon alone.

Hmm.. I imagine even Felicia has heard of the Beatles. Although I doubt she could name even one of them.

Thing is, I liked bands like Counting Crows, Crash Test Dummies and The Barenaked Ladies when I was in grade school...I was raised on this music, and I never had a reason to rebel. I like the music.

Looking at her "Soundtracks," it's amasing how much mine and DC's music tastes are alike. lol. HAHA! ME AND SOMEONE WELL-KNOWN LIKE THE SAME MUSIC!!!!! *ahem* lol.

I bet 50 parsnips Millie suggests something underground that even we've never heard of.

It's rare for me to like a band (to all the rest I'm generally indifferent), usually I just like a particular song or two. Except maybe R.E.M., I liked that band, though I'm not sure why...
