It's 106 miles to Chicago...

A place to talk about anything (that doesn't belong in the other forums).

We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

So explain to me how you pay your taxes!

PAYE out of my paypacket automatically, council tax by direct debit, road fund license online ... that about covers it.

On a side note, given the facts in the Blue Brothers, their car chase averaged 11mph at most. Considering they really did drive at 120 in downtown Chicago (the only film to have got permission to do something like that in the city of Chicago, ever) I think they must have stopped off for a lazy breakfast on the way ...

Later than usual, most likely. The IRS (national tax agency in the U.S.) still hasn't finished designing its tax forms for this year, so I probably won't be able to file in early January like I normally do.

Not that it's a huge problem; they're not due till April, but I'm used to doing my taxes over Christmas break.

I haven't made enough money in the past to be eligible to have most of it sucked away yet.

I don't pay taxes as I work for a dodgey shop that pays cash-in-hand.

This might be the first year that I make enough to pay taxes, but I suspect to get money back still.

Through the nose, but like a bad burrito, it comes back...
(Never actually had a burrito do that to me, unless it had chicken. Chicken always does that to me. I don't eat chicken anymore.)
