Leg numbness
Moderator:Æron
My right upper leg (from my knee to... where my leg connects to my body) is numb, and has been for like a month. I've been in and out of the hospital for the past month too, but I keep forgetting to mention it because every time I go to the hospital it "goes away". The feeling is like the feeling of a limb "falling asleep", except it never wakes up. I was even able to put a cigarette out on it.
I know I should mention it to a doctor, and I will, but in the meantime are there any guesses as to what the heck is causing this?

You may have a pinched nerve. Just a guess.
Although, any numbness in the body indicates some sort of nerve damage or poor blood flow. You really should see a doctor ASAP!

-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

My expert opinion suggests you consult a doctor as well, because I have no idea.

The cigarette deal brings to mind I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. But it doesn't sound like you belong in a mental ward (more than the rest of us). I pray you get well soon.

Holy crap that was a DISTURBING book. We read a lot of cool (but disturbing) books back in Psychology class in high school... I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, Sybil, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Flowers for Algernon, The Bell Jar...The cigarette deal brings to mind I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. Anyway, thanks to all for your thoughts, prayers, concerns, advice, etc. And sorry I keep disappearing. Turns out it was a pinched nerve. I had been wearing a very bad type of belt which was cutting off the, um, long nerve in the leg... what the hell is it called... anyway, now I'm wearing a more normal belt and I am fine.
