"Oxnard & Milquetoast"?

Postby ImAWaffle » Wed Jun 07, 2006 7:19 pm

www.shmorky.com

Don't take it too seriously. I've spoken with Shmorky, and he's actually quite the fan of O&M. He's just had this "theme" going where he takes popular web comics and twists them around.

I think it's actually a bit chuckle-worthy, myself.

I find it more :/ and close-tab-worthy myself.

Well, it's okay. I don't like how it's drawn. The joke is a solid enough parody, but not worthy of a second glance honestly.

*There is a soft 'thlump' as the canary in the background falls of its perch, stone dead*

Ernest?...

*pokes the dead bird a few times*

And who says words can't hurt anyone :?

Honestly though, good paredy, if a little bit twisted on the stubject matter.

2 things,

1. Kinda cool, wouldn't expect Millie to EVER say that, and drawings a little cool

2. poster above me, Report to the airport and introduce yourself before anyone else notices your new, and pulls out the shaver

I liked it as a parody.

Well it IS by Dave Kelly so the subject matter being something obscene or disturbing is pretty high. Remembering some of the things on Purple Pussy, this is pretty tame. Plus I like his art style and I think he drew the characters quite well here.

"Shmorky"... hmm... somehow I have the feeling I've heard his name before recently. Wait, isn't he one of the "Flash Tub" animators on Something Awful?

*check, check*

Ayup. I liked his sendup of Homestar Runner too (from the aforementioned Flash Tub), even though it too had no real point. ...Hey, just like the real thing! (I'm so bad.)

I think his point was that 'Milquetoast' is a reflected extrapolation of Milly based upon initital definitions, there for leading to the inevitable linkage between the two as parodies of one another extroverted personalities... errrmmm.
