Truth in advertising

Hmm.. some people might consider pain extrordinare a good selling point, but I'm not going to discuss that. Rather, I'd like to say that the humor of this strip may be lost in further translation, since the humor is the translation. I am unsure how well this strip would perform when translated to German, French, or Latin, which I believe I've seen attempted in some part.

I wasn't there with Mr. Simpson, but I can still imagine just how funny that incident must have been.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this might have worked better as a "weekday" style strip with just the first three panels? I'm not saying this strip isn't good...it's just that, while looking at it, the third panel could have been the end and the comic would have been solid. Oh well.

But the colors with the dragan bread efects are one of my favorit parts in the entire comic. I would be deprived if that were the case.

Some other failures due to things lost in translation include the Chevy Nova (a car whose name translates to "No go" in Spanish) and Coca Cola (which if I recall correctly, means "Bite the wax tadpole" in Japanese phonetics)
