What if we go back in time and mind it to the point that he doesn't bump it?

Was there some reason for bumping this???

Anyway here's one: WHAT IF "O&M" finally gets picked up by the syndicates? Do you think it will become really popular?

I mean, I know it deserves to be, but will it? I can personally see it becoming the next Calvin and Hobbes, but I can also see a million newspaper editors saying "What the heck is this? You expect us to run this thing?!" I mean, if the kind of thing they find funny now is any indication...

I don't think ALL syndicates and editors are against such comics. One reason why Calvin and Hobbes stayed on for so long was because Universal knew how good a comic it was and many newspaper editor's as well. But competition is always intense.

I personally don't like "What ifs" in the context of past tense. What's done is done, and I don't like to waste my time thinking about "What could've been".

However, I do very much enjoy "What ifs" in a future tense.

How about this: What if Ozy's Parent(s) suddenly showed up on his doorstep? Alive and well?

It would be difficult to pull off such a storyline without it sounding like a bad made-for-TV movie.
maybe that is the point to make fun of badly made TV movies.

I'd rather they not show up at all, or have died a long time in the past. They're existance in the comic would throw a few kinks into how things work at present.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
