I assume that means he used PHP.
Seems like an odd assumption, considering that PHP is meant to run as either a CGI interpreter or a module for the webserver (and is not a very good CLI).

Perl, Python, and Ruby, however...

It's because he's altered the archives to include a complete listing of every strip by name and story arc :O!
