I do that a lot--just glance at a name and ASSUME that it's what I think it is and never actually LOOK at it. Well, you know what they say happens when you ASSUME--you make an A$$ out of U and ME. My sincerest apologies to Tavis. From now on, I promise to actually READ names. That happened before too; it took me two weeks before I actally saw the other 'f' in 5hfifty. I'm gonna go slam my face into a brick wall now.
:slam, slam, slam, slam, slam::

For months I just called him Shifty or shift. Then one day I was like "WOAH. THERE'S AN 'F'". Also I think we all thought Tavis was Travis at first...

<SteveThePocket> Geez. I want more of this stuff now. Now I know how a horny guy on an imageboard feels.

Also I think we all thought Tavis was Travis at first...

i think i happened to notice both how tavis's name and 5hfifty's were spelled when i first saw them (altho the 'h' in 5hfifty's always takes me by surpruse for some reason...) i think i noticed that tavis wasn't travis b/c at that time he had an avatar which said 'tavis' on in w/ the letters nice and spaced out. and sometimes knowing i'm a rotten speller makes me more careful- i concously try when i'm new at something to make sure i'm getting it right. which means that now i'm prolly more likely to misspell or not notice ppls names than i was when i joined dc.... yay irony.

Thanks for confirming that it was an honest, reasonable mistake and not an act of complete idiocy. I've mispelled Tavis numerous times, gotten genders wrong...I've really said some smart things on this board haven't I? And to think I have a 4.1 GPA, I'm a freakin' Einstein, huh?

Wow.. this has turned into a thread about spelling my name. I'm touched. *Finally hands Ozymandias The Great a t-shirt, now that he got it right*

I never had problem's spelling 5hfifty's name, unless you count those really bad typographically-challenged times when I can't even type "teh" correctly. I think the problems people have had with saying and spelling my name correctly has made me much more sensitive than most about correctly spelling stuff. Think about it. If 9 out of 10 people seeing your name on paper for the first time misspelled it and/or mispronounced it, how much attention do you think you would pay to the spelling of other peoples' names?

*grabs thingy and stands up on stage behind podium* I'd like to thank the fanbase, the iconeers, the T-shirt manufacturers, and Dr. Dos for actually pounding it into Ozymandias The Great's head that he was still getting my name wrong. I also want to thank my mom! I love you all! *Takes a bow and exits stage right, taking Felix's Diablo after installing a couple other cheat codes and all the available mods, except Sabre and dabomb, of course...*

*VROOM*

Buh....wha? I got shot by a tank???? And after all I've done for you, this is the tanks I get?

*waves magic wand*
*Tavis's car turns into a gigantic raspberry*
*Tavis is utterly stupefied by this turn of events*
*sneaks up and grabs the Thingy while Tavis is standing there slack-jawed*
*flies off in a balsa-wood airplane with the Thingy*

(This completely wacky game reminds me of a Llewellyn-Ozy exchange:
LLEWELLYN: Perpetual mental motion is a wonderful thing.
OZY: If your favorite artist is Picasso.)
