Depends on Millie's life-expectancy. Average life expectance for (human) women is about 81 right now, I believe.

18 + 65 = 83 (isn't it amazing what Maths A-level can do for you?). Of course, Millie being Millie, she probably <i>would</i> expect to live longer than average...

I was guessing that she'd only expect to need the lunches until mandatory retirement age ... at which point her (nonexistant) pension/social security would kick in. (and 65-18 = 47)

What Millie attitude to work in this strip reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin expresssed similar attitudes, but it's been years since I read my Calvin and Hobbes books.<br><br>And Millie's punchline is the funniest thing I've read in Ozy and Millie in a while.
