Heh.
Maths is an awesome subject indeed, but everything up to and including introductory trigonometry is dull compared to more advanced stuff.

This is the best way. That's a really, really bad way to teach trig. I'm surprised. We realize that there's some relevancy to it or else we wouldn't be learning it, but after we got introduced to sine, cosine, tangent and their inverses, we basically spent three weeks just doing proofs that [some random string of sines, cosines and tangents] = [some other string of sines, cosines and tangents] without any real examples of what these things would mean. We could have just have easily replaced them with variables A, B, C and X = 1/A, Y = 1/B, Z = 1/C and would have learned the exact same stuff from that portion of our school yearThose math nerds at your school haven't taken a geophysics course, then, in which most if not all of those functions become very useful.
That said, I don't particularly mind math, but its far from my favorite subject.

no johnathan, the problem with that method of learning Trig is that you aren't actually learning any new concepts, nor are you learning any applications to what you are learning.
But that was just the last half of my Trig, we learned real stuff about circles and arcs and all in the first half

Well put doog. You never posted anything offensive whatsoever
we know she'll be back, like a good bitch should.
Whatever. Everything's a problem to you.
Anyway this is somewhat relavent to this thread. I noticed that alot of people in my class are either failing Geometry or hate it and other math classes in general. I find this ironic coming from people who's ancestors were experts at this. I think the cross breeding between Mayans and Spainards didn't help much over the years.

I like math that can't talk. Makes for some good listening.

Astro> gforce's smiles can cure cancer in kittensgforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Wow, seems to be alot of math people here doing advanced sruff. Me on the other hand... Well I havn't even memorized my multiplication tables. Math is insanely difficult for me. That being said its my worst and least favorite subject (I'm a Senior and I was having such a hard time with Algebra II that they put me in Math III). But I still admire the people who can do the advanced stuff. Except when they're the jackass more-atheist-or-agnosticer-than though nerd types.
The worst math I'm doing right now is percentages of monetary amounts.
Or was. I did Financial Accounting this past semester. Simple math, yes. A lot of numbers to keep track of, yes. Very tedious? yes.
