Yes, there'l be more
i'll agree too those who prefer the one on the left over the newer one. However, i think that the art is only semi-iportant to the strip, so long as the chars are identifieable, and the art is good enough to pass. If ozy gets thin enough to become a stick figure, i'll start to worry! The content is more important.
With that said, I will also add that, yes, i hope that Ozy does 'bulk up' a bit. clear lines have never truley been an issue with me, so if the lines get a little 'sloppier' as a result, well, as i said i didn't consider them sloppy in the sub-style on the left before hand either.

I think that was also added in the LJ that the outfit at the very least resembles the Hoggwarts uniform, so perhaps it's an ode to Harry Potter.

*edit* hit post too soon.
As spamfish pointed out, people change. As Simpson's lifestyle changes with his master degree program + work, he needs to dedicate more time to other things than comic drawing, so his methods would have to be quickend. A differant outlook on another thing may have lead to the legs being lengthend... etc, etc.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
Hmm.. all this talk of Ozy getting thinner made me think about the diet fads out there now. Those things are just silly in my opinion, and well, I am not sure if there is a good way to poke fun at it in O&M since well, they don't eat meat (for obvious, rather gory reasons) and going light on carbohydrates would drastically limit their diet even further.

Forgive me for thinking it's silly that people would actually think that Ozy's new outfit is in any way perminent.

If i saw those two kids in an orphanage i'd be leaving for home with the one on the right.

I accept that everything changes but sometimes not for better. I don't intend to be taken as too bitter because i'm not. I do think in a comic strip writing is more important than art but art is also important. I'll definitely continue reading the strips but if this is the new style i'll find it a little unnerving actually.
But all comic strips progress in art so i have to take it and like it. I respect Mr. Simpson's desicions and realise it's his comic and what he wants to do he can but really, Ozy looks like he's had liposuction.

Sorry, probably sounded too bitter, i'm not really.

Maybe because he's embarrassed to be purchasing cartoon pornography in public.

*veers subject back on topic, hopefully*
I'm sure only the art is ageing, not the characters.

Edit: Actually, the new art style doesn't really bother me much. Only when compared to the older style (but not necessarily oldest) can the newer one seem sour. And I do kinda wish that DCS fattens him up a bit, but it's still all fine by me. Just don't worry about it and you'll find yourself enjoying it more.

Truthfully, I really how Millie looks in the present style.

*sigh*
ok, on it's own right i like the sub-style.... however when compared to the one on the left, (and i really really hate to say this, but...) the newer feels like a step backwards, for ozy at least. Millie, my only qualm with that is the ear we see on the left needs to be bigger. Millie, otherwise, seem's fine there. If, however, we compare her to the same time frame as what was compared in the intro to the thread, i don't know how i'll react. If we went in chronological order with each subtle change, i would say to each "yes, that seems like a logical progression." Well, i'm done dwelling on this for now.
