Also note how Ozy is described as merely "Millie's Best Friend". :OOOOOOO
...despite the fevered hope of many...
*chuckles* Not so much 'fevered hope' in my case. I could imagine them becoming sweethearts in later years.

Silly, foolish, romantic old I.

I understand also that he reversed the order of the names out of deference to a tradition of listing the deadpan member first in comedy teams (e.g., Abbott and Costello).
Morecambe and Wise (and maybe Laurel and Hardy) doesn't follow that rule.

The main thing standing in the way between a romance between Ozy and Millie is their parents. Its kind of weird to go out with somebody if you parents are dating each other. If Llewellyn and Mrs. Mudd got married then it would be even wierder cause dating you siblingsis is usually looked down upon, unless you live in Kentucky (j/k  )

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

I'm with you two too (Rooster and Bocaj) but I just go with what David does. I wasn't much for Ms. Mudd and Llewllyn at first but I warmed up to it (or maybe Llewellyn did that).

Who said I wanted to see them in bed?

For a start, they're children.

And for another thing, they are best friends. One can love one's best friend. I certainly do. And I love a number of other people.

However, I am in love with someone quite other.

Just because I could see them as sweethearts, doesn't mean I want them to be, or to go making oddly-shaped beasts together in later life. (Unless they're modelling Plasticine together, which is something entirely different, of course.)

Just because I said what I did please don't go interpreting it as me thinking everyone else who thinks differently must advocate the exact opposite opinion.

The Ozy and Millie Sunday strip about two-tone perception syndrome comes to mind.

I sometimes want to see Ozy and Millie in love. I know full well that a boy and girl -- or even a man and woman, each attracted to the other sex -- can be very close without falling in love. But like so much of my culture, I find a good love endearing to watch, and the cuteness makes it all the better. I would not want it to go beyond hugs, kisses, and declarations of love.
I understand also that he reversed the order of the names out of deference to a tradition of listing the deadpan member first in comedy teams (e.g., Abbott and Costello).
Morecambe and Wise (and maybe Laurel and Hardy) doesn't follow that rule.
Well, few traditions are universally followed. But there's a case to be made for L&H, because Hardy is the more expressive of the two, even if the more normal.

Anyway, maybe I'm just used to it, but I prefer the sound of "Ozy and Millie" to the reverse.
