I
sometimes want to see Ozy and Millie in love. I know full well that a boy and girl -- or even a man and woman, each attracted to the other sex -- can be very close without falling in love. But like so much of my culture, I find a good love endearing to watch, and the cuteness makes it all the better. I would
not want it to go beyond hugs, kisses, and declarations of love.
I understand also that he reversed the order of the names out of deference to a tradition of listing the deadpan member first in comedy teams (e.g., Abbott and Costello).
Morecambe and Wise (and maybe Laurel and Hardy) doesn't follow that rule.
Well, few traditions are universally followed. But there's a case to be made for L&H, because Hardy is the more expressive of the two, even if the more normal.
Anyway, maybe I'm just used to it, but I prefer the sound of "Ozy and Millie" to the reverse.
