John F. Kennedy, Jr. had just died in a plane crash, and suddenly a lot of people who hadn't given him much thought when he was alive seemed to be engaged in what I can only describe as mourning as entertainment. (Mournitainment?)

JFK would not have been remembered so well if he hadn't been shot.

JFK would not have been remembered so well if he hadn't been shot.
And if he hadn't been shot, he would have died anyway of Addison's disease, which he had a severe case of, though at the time it was not publicly known. That's what makes all those conspiracy theories so laughable.

No I'm pretty sure JFK was shot by an unstable person who the FBI used to get rid of a president they didn't like.

But what about the three-headed Elvis clones from Mars?

The US media LOVES celebrity deaths. There must not be enough for them this year to keep up their ratings, because they're currently 'celebrating' the first anniversary of Michael Jackson's death.

There was five celebrity deaths this past year! How many do they need?

Michael Jackson's decaying corpse is more newsworthy than 5 recently dead celebrities.

They need at least one per month! They're behind on their quota right now.

Going back to John Kennedy Jr., his greatest claim to fame was his launching of the now-defunct magazine George, a Vanity Fair-style magazine that I read, and it had a degree of merit. It might have lasted a long longer if John-John had (John-John being JFK Jr.'s nickname.)
