I never had experiences with people who demanded 'brand name' clothing or anything, but my lord did I know about girls squealing over boy bands. I admit that I liked some of their music just fine -- and still kind of do, in a cheesy, nostalgic kind of way -- but the extent of their popularity was something that I couldn't stand.

Never was a big fan of either, but I always liked Backstreet better than N'Sync.

Boy bands never really affected me because I didn't really get into music until a few years ago and even that's sort of scattershot and slapdash.
By making slanted references to the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, and the Spice Girls, I wasn't exactly going for enduring relevance, was I? Then again, I don't think the phenomenon of manufactured pop music has ebbed at all in the few years since.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

The music I listen to is far less mainstream than the music DCS listens to.

In America, anyway.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

My music is so not mainstream that the only way to get it is to ask a member of the band to burn you cd.
