His name was Pete Best, but I guess I was afraid not enough people would know that.

Now it just sounds stilted, and I still don't really get it because I don't know anything about the Beatles' first drummer. Surely DCS could have avoided a somewhat obscure Beatles reference here?

(I have read about it on Wikipedia now so this joke is hilarious)

Unfortunately what the other Beatles did to Pete Best was far more cruel than the cartoon implies. :cry:

But not even having the decency to tell him to his face, but to leave it to others to do so. That's what was so bad.

They had the band manager fire Best, and frankly thats a duty the band manager should perform.
