Other things don't precede Llewen. Ozy doesn't for one as he's on the tail. Also immobile objects don't precede him. Also abstract concepts such as love.

Ozy did precede Llewellyn. Which character was introduced first? even in the comic's world, everyone knew Ozy before they met Llewellyn.

outside of my previous argument, I'm going to suggest that Ozy is saying "the only thing [about you] that doesn't precede you is your tail", which is apparently true, and which you don't have to be a genius to infer from the strip.

DCS appears to agree with Cactus Jack.Unfortunately, presented like this in grayscale, this is a strip that loses a little bit. In the original version, most of the strip-everything but the final two panels- was in monochrome, slightly blue-tinted, for a sort of film noir effect. Then, when Llewellyn actually shows up, it explodes into full glorious color.
Ozy's closing line is one of those lines that... as far as I can tell doesn't really mean anything. I mostly try to avoid those, these days. Still, this is one of the few times a Sunday strip has actually been relevant to the plot. And one of the few times a plot twist has permanently changed the strip.
