You know that at least one of the writers of the Simpsons was an OM fan, and found out that DCS felt like she was Lisa in almost every way, and back when DCS was still David they made an episode where Lisa pretended to be a boy, and her disguise was literally a copy of DCS's own "simpsona"

I see Millie's mom decided to start going barefoot already.

Calvin and Hobbes had one like this, but so did Foxtrot. I think if more then one person uses the idea its no longer considered stealing, just being uncreative.

The question is which one of THOSE two ripped the other off.

Calvin and Hobbes ran from November 1985 to December 1995.
Foxtrot was published in 1988 and is still going (at this time, though, only on Sundays).
Ozy and Millie began in 1998.
So clearly Watterson read O&M, built a time machine, and went back in time in order to make
Calvin and Hobbes, which O&M cribs from rather liberally at this point in time. That way, in the future, he would be able to read O&M to make a time machine to go back in time to make
Calvin and Hobbes to spur Simpson to make O&M so he could steal jokes and go back in time...

According to book commentary, the sole compendium of human knowledge ever, this was apparently a spoof of Clinton's many and varied scandals. Apparently.

If he wanted to spoof Clinton Millie should have had sex with an intern. It doesn't even make sense any other way.

Sarcasm and non-serious statements really don't translate well over the internet, apparently.
