Now when I think 'animals that make good piano instructors', 'walrus' is somewhere between 'No' and 'Why am I thinking about this?' Flippers aren't good for pianos. (And don't tell me to suspend my disbelief, look at those giant flipper-fingers!)

If the notes look like tadpoles then they have to be eighth notes.

A quarter note is a tadpole on Viagra.

I remember piano lessons
The hours in freezing rooms
Cruel ears and tiny hands
Destroying timeless tunes

She said there's too much out there
Too much already said
You'd better give up hoping
You're better off in bed

OK strip. The walrus teacher is no stranger than the zebra, Mr. Larnblat, that serves as the school music teacher. He has NO fingers!

BTW, I bought a keyboard last year. I made sure it worked and then boxed it back up because there is no point in playing it untill I learn to read music and I haven't found time to start doing that yet. Sometime this year I hope. I already have a title for my first CD: Good Music Played Badly. :P

Ah, heh, I see. Nah, I was joking in reference to how Segovia said the eighth notes would look like tadpoles, etc. I took piano lessons myself, though I dropped out pretty early in the game, which I now regret. I can read music, but I can't sight-read; that is, I can read a piece ahead of time and learn to play it, but I can't play as I read, which I would greatly like to learn to do.

That's the first thing I thought of when I read the thread's title.
