Millie leaves to the right on the third panel but comes back from the left on the fourth. That's a visual media no-no.
As to joke, though, it's rather cute. I don't know if I'd like it if the joke just ended on "I get the hose", since that's making a none-too-subtle statement, but Ozy's little comment at the end is enough to remind you that they're children, and Millie probably just saw some stuff on TV and heard her mom extrapolating from there. Kind of like the 'pros and cons' strip, which is saved from mediocrity by Ozy's "We can run through the sprinkler" finisher.

It was unnecessary to say "I'm the United States" in the last panel; presumably the reader hasn't forgotten the second panel already. It's an amusing (if predictable) strip, though, and kind of cute.

She obviously just traveled around the world to gain a tactical advantage.

This one makes me laugh, cause it's so true.

would you have an opposition if she said "remember, I'm the United States"? she's really saying it to remind Ozy, and I talk like that all the time when I'm explaining whatevers to people

This strip is mostly setting up their personalities. It's cute, if a bit heavy handed but that's DCS of course.

I

anyway.

I think whether you would say that in real life or not is immaterial - it still adds baggage to a punchline which could be snappier, in my opinion.

I think the punchline works best with the 'I'm the United States' thing, but only if Millie had neglected to say she was the United States earlier. That way, it all comes in full-force at the end, and it's not redundant.

hmmm, I don't know, I think I'm tending to agree with Nickspoon's reasoning now though. I do like "Not exactly... I get to use the hose" as a snappier punchline.

I would've forgotten she's the United States by that panel.

but it doesn't really matter much because by that point, you could replace it with any big threatful country you don't like.

Millie being the United States is very important. If she was Russia then she would have had to say "I vill crush you"

I rarely get bothered by this since I just assume we're looking at them from another side. it might be visually jarring and not recommended (by who? Scott McCloud?) but it's not a mistake to me.
