So is this a commentary on child labor laws, or on the capacity for bribery of authority figures? And does this mean that Millie is really a corrupt government agent who allows corporations to do as they please in exchange for minor amounts of compensation in defiance of her morals?

This strip illustrates a minor pet peeve of mine. Millie is way too young to be so all knowing. If DCS had made her just a little naive in regards to politics, it would've come across as funnier and DCS could've still had made whatever point she was trying to make.

As for this strip, it's too...I dunno. It's not really funny and it does not make any kind of point so it comes across as meh. Ozy's confusion in panel 2 is indeed the best part of this strip.

BTW, Ozy's wording in the second to last strip is odd. It sounds like he's saying that he made the glass and not the lemonade inside it. LOL! Hey! Maybe he did! Lewellyn supplied the fire and Ozy shaped the glass!

I have to agree with the sentiment, but I already dedicated one of the other threads to raging about this, so I decided not to do it today. But somebody else did so s'all good!

DCS is not making a statement against corporations, sweatshops, any of that. While I'm sure she thinks they're bad, nothing else I've ever read from her has indicated that this is a personal issue of hers. The point is simply that Millie heard about child labor and a sweatshops, and thought it would be funny to point out that Ozy's breaking that law.

She's not being pretentious, it's certainly her level of maturity to say stuff like that. hell I said stuff like that all the time. She doesn't actually know what she's talking about, and that's realistic. She's not trying to be political, she's being your average bratty kid who tries to say that you're doing something that should get you in trouble

I was playing an online lemonade stall simulator and it made me actually think a bit about this.

How many folks have actually operated a lemonade stall and done a proper cost anaylsis on it rather then just get their parents to give them a bunch of ice, sugar and lemons.

50c a cup would probably not break even.

I use to do Kool-Aid stands. I imagine the costs are far lower considering a pack of Kool-Aide costs something in the area of a nickel.

You need a *thumb up* from the Gesundheitsministerium (Health) that your stand is clean enough to serve food/drink, and you need to wrote down every earned cent, so you can pay taxes on it.
